Have you always wanted to preserve those delicious seasonal fruits? This is your opportunity to learn how!

We start each workshop with a cup of tea & tastings of a selection of local cheeses & jams while you learn all the fundamentals of jam making, from fruit selection & jar preparation to 'setting point', bottling and storage.  The importance of pectin, acidity and temperature will be explained, and you will put this all into practice when you get “hands on”, using fruit from the orchard to prepare and make a batch of yummy jam.

There will be lots of guidance during each step, as well as suggestions for interesting flavour combinations.

By the end of the class, you'll be ready to take advantage of the seasons and make wonderful homemade jam, for your own use or as beautiful gifts.


Knowledge required

This class is appropriate for those 15yrs and over. Absolute beginners, those needing a refresher or those who want extra tips to improve their preserving skills.


 What you'll get

Each participant will take home one jar of freshly made jam, full workshop notes and recipes as well as the new knowledge, skills and confidence to keep preserving at home.


What to bring

Please wear closed-in non-slip shoes. Everything you need for the class will be provided.
