Embark on a delightful paddock-to-plate journey at Hillside Harvest Orchard. Guided by the grower, participants will wander through rows of apple trees, discovering where the apples destined for their homemade pies are grown. As they take in the charm of the orchard, guests will gain insights into the art of apple cultivation and learn why the region is known as Australia’s Fruit Basket.
The experience continues with a hands-on pie-making workshop using fresh, local ingredients—most importantly,
apples picked straight from the orchard. Hillside Harvest’s baker will lead the group through the process of crafting the perfect pastry and preparing a rich, aromatic apple filling, sharing a few insider tips along the way to elevate
every pie.
At the heart of the workshop is Grandma’s cherished recipe—a tribute to the warmth and tradition of homemade
pies. Guests will uncover nostalgic flavours that have stood the test of time, creating a pie that honours the past while celebrating the harvest of the present.
To finish, everyone will enjoy a slice of Grandma’s pie served with a dollop of cream and a comforting cup of tea or coffee. Each handcrafted pie will be boxed up and ready to take home - perfect for sharing with family and friends.
